[[Feeling]] desperate, he looked around for some[[thing]] that could serve as a [[relic]] and spotted the skull of a dog on the [[ground]]. He pulled out [[one]] of its teeth, wrapped it in nice cloth, and when he reached home, [[present]]ed it to his [[mother]] as a tooth of [[Lord]] [[Buddha]] him[[self]]. The [[woman]] continually made [[prostration]]s and [[offering]]s to it with a [[mind]] of [[faith]]. So [[great]] was her [[faith]] that the [[Buddhas]]' [[blessings]] [[entered]] the [[ordinary]] tooth, causing [[second]]ary [[relic]]s to [[spontaneous]]ly come forth from it. Through the [[force]] of her [[belief]], the [[material]] [[substance]] of the dog's tooth became indistinguishable from an [[actual]] [[relic]] of the [[Buddha]]. This was confirmed by the [[appearance]] of [[auspicious]] [[sign]]s like rainbow [[light]]s and the like at the [[time]] of her [[passing]].
