Alkali-base reaction

An alkali-base reaction is a reaction in which an alkali, such as magnesium carbonate (MgCO3) reacts with a base, such as potassium hydroxide (KOH). The reaction produces a metal (Mg and K separately) and hydroxycarbonate salts (CO4H3+).
